→ When you plug both ends in normally, Tx on one switch automatically connects to Rx on the other. Patch cord polarity defines the directional optical path between two transceivers, ensuring that the transmit (Tx) signal from one device reaches the receive (Rx) port of the other. ANSI/TIA/EIA, The Fiber Optic Association, Panduit, and Leviton recommend having every segment crossed: crossed patch cable : crossed permanent cable : crossed patch cable. Two types of duplex fiber patch cords are defined in the TIA standard: A-to-A type shown in Figure 1 and A-to-B type shown in Figure 2.
