The VLAN aggregation function associates a super-VLAN with multiple sub-VLANs. Interfaces in all the sub-VLANs use this IP address as the gateway address to communicate with. This document describes the configuration of Ethernet services, including configuring MAC address table, link aggregation, VLANs, VLAN aggregation, MUX VLAN, VLAN termination, Voice VLAN, VLAN mapping, QinQ, GVRP, VCMP, STP/RSTP/MSTP, VBST, SEP, RRPP, ERPS, LBDT, and Layer 2 protocol transparent. This chapter covers the design recommendations for a data center design deployment consisting of a Cisco Nexus® 7000 Series Switch at the aggregation layer and a Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Switch at the access layer. The In this deployment the Aggregation switch will have dual purposes, providing power and layer 2 access to wired devices and access points, while also aggregating downstream aggregation switches. My plan was to have my three switches use all four of the 10Gb uplink ports to a fourth "aggregator switch" so that I'd have the necessary bandwidth for a total of 12 10Gb links to the aggregator.
