Genew Technologies and Zhongshi Wosen, both Chinese companies, will help the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) build its fiber optic network. On April 7, 2025, in Kinshasa, the Minister of Posts, Telecommunications, and Digital Affairs, Augustin Kibassa Maliba, signed a memorandum of understanding with two Chinese companies, Genew and Zhongshi Wosen. Through this partnership, the country officially launches the construction of its. 55 million fibre optic cable project, a significant leap towards enhancing its digital infrastructure. Congolese Fiber Optic Company (SOCOF SA) has reportedly signed a partnership with the Agency for the Coordination and Monitoring of Collaboration Agreements (APCSC) to deploy optical fibre networks along new roads to be built in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is advancing its digital connectivity with the installation of a fiber-optic network, supported by the European Investment Bank (EIB), in collaboration with telecommunications firm, Bandwidth and Cloud Services Group (BCs).
