This rooftop solar system is the first of its kind in the Kyrgyz Republic. The Kyrgyzstan boasts about 2,600 hours of sunshine a year on average, and a yearly Global Horizontal Irradiation (GHI) of up to 1,700 kWh/m2. Yet, it currently less than 1% of the country's electricity mix, leaving ample untapped potential. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) serves as the principal platform for international co-operation, a centre of excellence, a repository of policy, technology, resource and financial knowledge, and a driver of action on the ground to advance the transformation of the global energy. Technology GmbH is a German engineering company specializing in turnkey solar module production lines and manufacturing consulting, with project experience ranging from 20 MW to 500 MW per production line, including multi-line and gigafactory projects exceeding this scale.
