Construction of the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal has officially resumed at 100% capacity following a strike by construction workers. The strike, which began in late April 2025, temporarily halted several important infrastructure projects managed by Panama's Ministry of Public. 42 billion project was awarded to the Chinese consortium in 2018 by the government of Juan Carlos Varela and was scheduled to be completed in 2023. This was informed by the head of the Ministry of Public Works (MOP), José Luis Andrade, during a recent tour.
